Great Little Trains of Wales

Conwy Valley
From the North Wales Coast deep into Snowdonia. At 27 miles long the Conwy Valley Line is one of the most beautiful rail experiences in Britain.

The Conwy Valley line is part of the National Rail Network. It runs alongside the River Conwy, one of the great rivers of Wales. It continues along the banks of the turbulent river Lledr after it merges with the River Conwy at Betws y Coed.

From your departure at Llandudno to your arrival at Blaenau Ffestiniog you will travel through a rich array of historic sites and breath taking scenery.

The Conwy Valley line at 27 miles long offers one of the most beautiful rail experiences in Britain.

Ffestiniog Railway
The Ffestiniog Railway is a 13½-mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.The train climbs over 700 feet from sea level into the mountains through rolling pastures and dense forests, past lakes and waterfalls, through mountains and even at one point clinging to the side of the mountain! Welsh Highland Railway
This is Snowdonia’s newest railway. Trains start their spectacular 25 mile scenic journey from beneath the castle walls at Caernarfon. and climb from sea level to over 650ft on the foothills of Snowdon, before zig-zagging dramatically down the steep hillside to reach Beddgelert, then through the magnificent Aberglaslyn Pass and on to Porthmadog. Breath taking!
